Eye In Sky Weather

Weather Eye is now renamed to Eye In Sky Weather because of trademark conflicts in Canada and the US. I just released a major new version with loads more functionality (although there may be a few rough edges I need to iron out this week). This release includes a redesigned interface with 48 hour and 15 day forecasts. There is also now a tablet version, plus a bunch of minor tweaks, new settings and bug fixes.

Available on Google Play here.

I have set up a forum for bug reports, suggestions and general feedback here.

  1. My friend wanted to translate the "Weather Eye" into Russian and offer you to add a program, but he ran into difficulties, the translated program is not working properly, probably all the indicators are taken from the weather server?! You could clarify the situation? And generally you considering adding to their program other languages than English?

  2. Yeah - they come from weather service. I might look into making it multilanguage next release...

    1. Love the app but the temps seem to always lag and be about 6-8 degrees off of other sources in my area even now that I have it set to update every 30 min.

  5. Hi Tim,

First off all. Congratulations with this great app. I love it and use it everyday.

    I have only two remarks:

1)Why does pressing on the current weather send me to my browser and opens google weather. In my opinion this is not needed since needed info is in the app all ready and when pressed by accident its quite frustrating since you leave the app, directly.

    2) Can you make the background of all widgets transparent?

    1. 1) I linked to the Google Weather as it provides an hour by hour breakdown of the weather, maybe I'll add an option to disable it if there is some demand.

      2) You can edit the transparency of the widgets (its called alpha in the color picker).

    1. There is a bug (kind of). Make sure you have not moved the app to the sdcard. If the widgets still do not show up then reboot and they should appear.

  7. Hey Tim... loving your simple weather widgets.
I don't think there is... but is there a widget that has the week forecast with the circle widgets? [shown in the Google Play Store: https://lh6.ggpht.com/_Miyc9vLd27lFwfmdVXSh_PCevyEvYQIQG2Vkp3u-HW-IImpZ9OklNWYE-D7C6SAaIM]

  9. I love your app - it is easily the most beautiful weather app on Android and proof that good design isn't confined to iOS. I have just two requests to make an almost perfect app perfect - could you add a widget with a clock (even a simple, minimal one would look amazing) and maybe change the eye in the notification bar to show temperature. Look forward to seeing what improvements are round the corner...

  10. Hi Tim,
    congratulations for this App!
What I discovered: In v1.4 the widget icon disappears sometimes after hours of standby, only refresh symbol is there.
In v1.1 I've never seen this behaviour. Maybe you'll know what you've changed? :)

  12. Loved the app, and really liked Google Now's weather icons, so I made an icon pack for the app. My theme is mostly black/white, so these icons are too:

  13. Hi Tim,

Really good App, i like it so much .... but I and many others seem to have a problem with it!
Since the 2.1 version I always get the message " weather not available for .... "... as if the weather data can not be loaded from the server.

I hope you can do it soon fixed -!!

    Thx and regards

    1. The API I used seems to be taken down :(

I'm starting to look at alternative paid APIs. It may take a while but hopefully the end product will be more stable and have a more comprehensive weather data by the time I am finished. Please be patient and stay tuned for a future update...

  19. I absolutely adore this app, but I seem to have a design problem with it on my Galaxy S3. I am using the smallest icon setting but the 'weather icon' for the current day (I have it set to weekly forecast widget) doesn't shrink to the smallest size like the rest of the days do. Any idea what's going on there?

  20. Hi, really nice app. One question, when I change the icon set, and the icons in the widget don't change, only when I click through to full weather view?

    Where am I going wrong?

    Cheers

    1. The weather icons in the widget are controlled independently of the weather icons in the app. If you want to change the widget icons you need to click the 3 vertical dots in the widget and select a new icon set.
